2024 Chevrolet Trailblazer

SCHEDULE A TEST DRIVE

Overview

The 2024 Chevrolet Trailblazer may bear a name suggesting it is suited for rugged terrain, but this subcompact SUV is more suited for prowling city streets than bumpy trails. However, that will suit some vehicle owners just fine, especially considering the Trailblazer delivers a load of tech and, despite its small size, makes the most of its space. Buyers will have the choice of either a 137-hp or 155-hp 3-cylinder turbocharged engine. Offered in a total of four trims--LS, LT, ACTIV, and RS—the 2024 Trailblazer comes packed with plenty of driver-assist and safety tech as standard as well as options that lend themselves to a sportier experience. The starting price tag below $25,000 will hold plenty of appeal for drivers hoping to get the roominess of an SUV without breaking the bank.

Who's It For?

The 2024 Chevrolet Trailblazer is likely to appeal to budget-minded, younger drivers, particularly those with young families. Those who are looking for plenty of tech and storage, without having to pay for a luxury or larger SUV will also find the 2024 Trailblazer to their liking. While the Trailblazer falls into the subcompact SUV category, it makes the absolute most of the space that it offers.

What's New for 2024?

The big news for Chevy Trailblazer in 2024 is the redesigned bumper, headlights, grille, and tail lights. This midcycle refresh breathes new life into the popular crossover. Also exciting is the new 11-in. infotainment touchscreen combined with a high-tech 8-in. digital gauge cluster, all standard. Buyers will also have the choice of new wheel designs and colors.

Real World Performance

The 2024 Chevrolet Trailblazer finds itself between the similarly sized Trax and the larger Equinox in Chevy's crowded SUV line-up. While its namesake from decades ago was built on a truck body, owners of the modern-day Trailblazer will appreciate the more comfortable ride and better fuel economy that the 2024 Trailblazer's chassis offers. While today's Trailblazer owners were more likely lured to this small SUV because of its roominess, tech, and price tag, the 2024 Trailblazer is easier to handle than larger SUVs while still offering plenty of room for passengers and cargo. The Trailblazer handles curves well and offers enough power for peppy city driving with the choice of either of its 3-cylinder turbocharged engines. Opting for the 1.3-liter does deliver nearly 20 more horsepower and an additional 12 lb.-ft of torque compared to the smaller engine.
